Once a hidden corner of Spain that drew house-buyers to its green shores with
its remoteness and cheap houses, Galiciaīs market is maturing although bargains
are still not hard to find.
Property prices in Galicia have been increasing at one of the highest rates on
record over the last 12-month period, with prices up nearly 18 per cent.
The rising house prices and general increase is attributed to several factors,
including Britīs improved awarenes of the area thanks to TV programs. Many British
people are tired to overly hot summers, problems with water supplies, high property
prices and the bad quality of construction that is often found on Spainīs costas.
Also cheap daily flights with Ryanair together with Iberia Airlines to Santiago
de Compostela and La Coruņa have given British buyers the opportunity to hop over for a quick
look at properties for sale and to enjoy what the area has to offer.
The area currently receiving the greatest interest from buyers is Pontevedra.
This region is an up-and-coming hotspot because of its beautiful nature, mild and
sunny climate, which is better than in other parts of the region.
