The best of Pontevedra and Soutomaior area
Discover Pontevedra area in Rias Baixas, a beautiful coastal and rural area in Galicia. The tour will take you to the Natural Park of Barro and its restored gran mills, then along the countryside to the stunning medieval castle at Soutomaior, built in the 12th century. Then, we will stop in Arcade, the oyster capital of Galicia, with the beautiful Sampaio medieval bridge, and the culturally rich town of Pontevedra with a lovely old town full of monuments and cozy squares with a lot of tapas bars.

Itinerary:
Depart the hotel or other point of location
Stop 1. Our first stop is in Barro to visit the beautiful Natural Park and restored grain mills.
Stop 2. Then we make our way to Soutomaior to visit its famous medieval castle. The castle was built in the 12th century by the Soutomaior family. It overlooks the Verdugo river valley. The castle has its own chapel and hosts a beautiful botanical garden with trees from all over the world, some of them 800 years old.
Stop 3. We stop in Arcade, the oyster capital of Galicia, to enjoy a delicious three course Galician lunch accompanied by local wines.
Stop 4. After lunch we head over to the city of Pontevedra, here we will spend the afternoon enjoying this very historically and culturally rich city. We will visit the Museum of Pontevedra, the Church of Santa Maria, the ruins of Santo Domingo, the Tuecro and Ferreria squares and enjoy some famous Spanish tapas in the old town.
